The Contenders
On January 1st, 2010, Gremlin–a Gnomebegone–left the garden and his post for the warmth of the kitchen. He found comfort, but he also found the crabs, Mr. Pinchy and Citizen Snips. While the war courses day and night, each weekday a picture of a part of particular battles will be displayed. At the end of the week, the winner of the fight will be announced… the winner of that battle, not the war. We don’t know how long these gladiators will duke it out, but we’re gonna watch and find out!
Let’s meet the contenders!
In this corner, wearing orange, chitinous trunks are the
CRABS
Citizen Snips
Thomas Percival Pynchon
AKA Mr. Pinchy
(Decapoda Brachyura Canceroidea)
Hailing from New England, these two feisty fighters made the kitchen home and they will go to great lengths to defend it. They excel in tag-team co-op, but each has its own signature move–understandably both involve pinchers. They have managed to keep themselves out of boiling pots for years, they have home field advantage, and they feel crabby all the time. Looks like they’re gonna give their opponent a run for his money!
And that opponent, in the opposite corner, wearing no trunks at all is
GREMLIN
Gremlin
(Gnomebegoneous Exgardeniae Kitchenous*)
Coming from parts unknown, Gremlin is a Kitchen classification of the Gnomebegone species. Little is known about the Gnomebegone other than they don’t like gnomes–those two races have been battling it out for centuries to reign supreme in gardens around the world. It is unknown–and puzzling–as to why Gremlin has come inside from the garden and transferred his gnome-wrath and territorial consternation onto the crabs, but he’s here, he’s all head and all teeth, and he’s crazy!
Looks like we got ourselves a rumble, y’all!
